Description
Griha Pravesh Puja, also known as the Housewarming Ceremony, is a Hindu ritual performed before moving into a new home. It is believed to bring positive energy, blessings, and prosperity to the household. The puja is typically conducted by a Hindu priest or knowledgeable family member. Here are the general steps involved in the Griha Pravesh Puja: Select an auspicious date and time: Consult an astrologer or a Hindu calendar to determine a favorable date and time for the puja. It is usually performed during an auspicious time of the day, such as sunrise or sunset. Prepare the home: Clean the house thoroughly before the ceremony. Decorate the entrance with rangoli (colored powder) or flower petals to welcome the deities and guests. Gather the puja items: Gather the necessary puja items, including flowers, incense sticks, camphor, coconut, turmeric powder, kumkum (vermilion), sandalwood paste, betel leaves, betel nuts, fruits, sweets, and other offerings. You will also need a small puja altar or table. Setup the puja altar: Place the deity or picture of the preferred deity on the puja altar. You may choose to worship Lord Ganesha, as he is considered the remover of obstacles and is traditionally worshipped first.
